Home - Potts Mountain Burial Ground (PMBG) is a conservation cemetery located in Pickens County, Georgia. PMBG is protected in perpetuity by a deed of conservation easement held by the Atlantic Coast Conservancy in Jasper.
Our Setting
- Potts Mountain History - visitors may explore the historic cemetery with graves dating back to 1843. The family plot is located just a short distance from an iconic old oak tree and sunflower fields. The ACC staff has restored the gravestones located on this historic family plot in Marble Hill, Georgia.
- About Conserved Land - conservation cemeteries adhere to the strictest standards of all burial grounds. The cemetery must involve an established conservation organization that holds a conservation easement, or has a deed restriction, guaranteeing long-term stewardship. The Atlantic Coast Conservancy (ACC), which owns and maintains PMBG, is a 501(c)3 land trust recognized as a “public charity”.
